Microsoft Silverlight is no longer the cross-browser market leader it once was, with major browser vendors announcing plans to phase out support for it shortly. A global consultancy that drives strategic growth across industries wanted to modernize the Silverlight -based development stack that was used for the Aeos application. Aeos accelerates cash flow by prioritizing and organizing workflow to minimize unbilled, billed, work-in-process, and aged accounts. They wanted to enhance the data configuration ability to reduce the time spent at the front desk so that hospitals could manage with a leaner front desk and optimize interdepartmental communications. They wanted to move to a modern web-based UI framework while preserving the legacy functionality and business rules of the current system and improving the overall responsiveness of the application.

The Solution

Collabera designed a solution that replaced Silverlight with Angular for the UI Layer. It allowed our client to have exceptional front-end functionality and the benefits of a single code-based enterprise-grade application. The innovative architecture simplifies the integration of web-based applications and legacy systems, while also providing the agility to create new capabilities to meet the dynamic business requirements.

  • Migrate SilverLight business logic to Angular UI and modernize the Aeos application stack
  • Create a Web API proxy layer to intercept service calls from UI, convert them to WCF request format
  • Intercept service responses and convert to JSON before transmitting to UI

The application can be used in hospitals for patient access, scheduling, pre-registration, pre-service collections, insurance verification, registrar, and patient admission. It would also improve revenue realization, coding, billing, self-pay collections, denial appeal, collections, and much more.

Tech-Stack:

Angular UI, JSON

The Results

The migration to the new technology was focused on maintaining their core business capabilities, this included migration of all their existing interfaces, data access and business data, user interface, and automation testing. We implemented the Aeos application for a comprehensive approach focused on ensuring that hospitals receive full and accurate reimbursement for services provided. The solution unified the revenue cycle and improved the ability to work with client and external systems.
