Appealing to a particular community of enthusiasts, for example, golfers, musicians, or bakers, is in itself a great strategy; one that helps with making the customer’s experience very captivating and personal. This combined with the convenience and delightful experiences that technology enables can help hit the ball out of the park. 

A Fortune 500 company and one of the largest omnichannel retailers in the US was looking for a partner to develop innovative products and services that would meet the individual needs of each customer creating a first-of-its-kind Store of the Future. 

Partners were expected to help with the definition of the overarching strategy, co-develop the applications based on agreed-upon architecture standards and processes, and make recommendations based on experience to innovate in the space. 

The goal was to integrate digital and store channels, thereby providing a seamless buying experience for their customers. 

The Solution

Collabera was responsible for addressing the new supply chain design, the architecture of a customer data hub, and the new capabilities in the store of the future helping shape the new experiences that our client wants to deliver to their customers. 

Our approach ensured that the organization had a flexible platform and system to manage diverse data types, sources, and formats as it works with supplier information, consumer data, product and supply chain data from multiple channels.

We engineered an end-to-end customer-centric supply chain management solution for the retailer through an integrated set of services, innovative processes, and robust technologies. 

  • Creating Customer-360 Data Hub – A data platform to create enterprise data warehouse and data hubs for better and seamless access of data across organizations that improves customer’s instore/online purchase experiences via related recommendations using a sophisticated recommendation engine
  • Building a new supply chain disposition that included RFID tracking on inventory as it moves throughout all phases of the replenishment process to achieve real-time merchant visibility, and to accomplish inbound automated cycle counting, outbound real-time manifest, display integrity, smart exits, sales floor replenishment, pick from back-room location, real-time, and accurate ATP and increased order fulfillment

The Results

The new experience will provide seamless engagement as the customer navigates across channels including the clients’ stores enabling them to initiate service in one channel and have it completed in another with no digital leakage. The implemented real-time inventory system provides product availability to customers in an omnichannel environment. ​ The MVP addresses three key customer pain points:

  • 70%

    improvement in in-store product availability

  • $5 Million

    recovery in lost sales by reducing BOPIS (buy online pick up in-store) declines, in the initial 3 stores that were part of the pilot

The solution will reduce costs by better leveraging existing systems and infrastructure; reducing complexity in the system environment and improving customer satisfaction with improved delivery options based on proximity to home or work.
