Job Title – Electrical Engineer

Location – Grand Rapids, MI – 49548 

Duration – 12 Months (Possible Extension / Conversion)

About the Role:

• The Electric Engineer is responsible for engineering and design to support the sustainable operation of the distribution system.
• This role involves working with teams across the organization and external stakeholders, and developing technical projects as required.
• The position is based in Grand Rapids but most of the work will be in West Kent, with some fieldwork and office work required.

Responsibilities:

• Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products 
• Collaborate with customers, coworkers, and others to discuss engineering products or projects
• Ensure installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
• Write reports and compile data regarding electrical engineering projects
• Prepare specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials
• Other non-essential duties as assigned

Education Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university OR Engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited university plus Professional Engineering license

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of applicable codes related to electronic engineering
• Proficiency in design and calculation software
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of electric utility distribution planning, construction, operation, and maintenance
• Working knowledge of electric utility operation (generation, transmission, and distribution of three-phase alternating current power)
• Knowledge of distribution planning principles
