Job Title – Mechanical Engineer 

Location – Hamilton Township, MI – 49419 

Duration – 6 Months (Possible Extension / Conversion) 

About the Role: 

• The Owner's Engineer is a mechanical project engineering role within the Gas Compression Project Engineering team. 

• This role involves supporting modifications to existing facilities and new construction projects at natural gas compressor stations. 

• The Project Engineer will work in team settings as a lead and/or support engineer, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. 

Responsibilities: 

• Represent the interests of the company throughout the lifecycle of projects 

• Oversee and coordinate engineering aspects of projects to meet safety, regulatory compliance, scope, quality, cost-effectiveness, and schedule objectives 

• Coordinate project work between external engineers, suppliers, and construction contractors 

• Perform moderately complex engineering tasks independently 

• Travel to compressor stations as needed 

Education Qualification: 

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field 

• Professional Engineering license preferred 

Required Skills: 

• Strong understanding of natural gas and balance of plant systems 

• Project management skills 

• Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels 

• Ability to review engineering drawings and calculations 

• Experience developing technical specifications and bid documents 

• Knowledge of shop inspection visits and field engineering 

• Ability to support testing and commissioning of equipment 

• Analytical skills to identify and recommend corrective actions 

• Proficiency in project scheduling and budgeting.
