Business Analyst - Climate Risk Database (SQL & End-to-End UI Development Focus)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with a strong foundation in SQL and end-to-end UI development to support the integration requirements of a Climate Risk Database. This role will involve gathering and translating business requirements into actionable development deliverables, serving as the bridge between product owners and development teams. You will work closely with UI/UX designers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to design high-quality user interfaces and data mappings while applying Agile methodologies. The successful candidate will possess strong technical, analytical, and communication skills to ensure a seamless flow from requirements capture to deployment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business partners to capture, document, and refine actionable requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Work alongside UI/UX designers, business partners, and SMEs to create screen mockups for end-to-end UI development.
• Conduct data mapping from source to target tables, ensuring data uniqueness and understanding its business relevance.
• Serve as the liaison between development teams and business stakeholders, clarifying requirements as needed.
• Conduct SQL-based data analysis to derive insights, perform data validations, and support reporting needs.
• Manage the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycle, including test script creation, execution, and defect validation.
• Lead Agile ceremonies, capture Epics and Stories, and maintain requirements clarity through JIRA and Confluence.
• Ensure project delivery meets requirements by reviewing QA scripts, coordinating testing efforts, and supporting post-deployment activities.
• Present analysis and solution ideas to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of technical aspects in an accessible way.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years in Business Analysis, with proficiency in requirements documentation and JIRA Horizon for requirements tracking.
• 3+ years of experience working with clients/stakeholders to resolve issues and design solutions.
• 2+ years in data analysis with SQL, able to create and execute SQL queries (TOAD experience preferred).
• Proven experience in managing UAT processes, including writing, executing, and validating test scripts.
• Familiarity with Risk and Compliance domains and Agile development methodologies.
• Experience working directly with developers to interpret business requirements.
• 1+ years in Agile project environments, ideally with participation in two or more UAT projects.

Preferred Skills:

• Solid SQL skills and experience in using tools like TOAD for data querying and analysis.
• Strong experience in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and documentation tools like Confluence Wiki.
• Knowledge of Informatica, Oracle, APIs, Angular, Alteryx, or similar tools.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to executives, technical teams, and business SMEs.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and write Epics, Stories, and design documents (HLD, LLD) in an Agile environment.
• Background in data visualization, API integration, and Agile best practices.
