Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

• Perform daily system administration tasks, including user account management and permission handling.

• Respond to and resolve critical system alerts and incidents promptly.

• Apply security patches and perform regular system updates.

• Conduct system backups and recovery procedures.

• Analyze system logs to identify and troubleshoot potential issues.

• Manage and maintain server configurations.

• Collaborate with other teams to plan and deploy system improvements.

• Monitor disk space, CPU usage, and memory usage, and take corrective action as needed.

• Maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides

  Required Skills

• Proven experience administering Linux/Unix systems in a production environment.

• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix OS concepts, commands, and utilities.

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

• Experience with user, group, and permission management.

• Familiarity with system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, top, vmstat).

• Understanding of system security practices and tools (e.g., firewalls, SELinux, sudo).

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting procedures and interacting with cross-functional teams.

• Positive, collaborative mindset with a sense of urgency in resolving issues.
