Detailed Job Description:  

Job Title: Data Entry Specialist/Copy Editor - Part-Time Role

Location: Lansing, MI 48906 - Onsite Role

Duration: 06 Months (Extension/Conversion will be based on performance)

Pay Rate: ($19-$20) on an hourly basis

Shift: M-F in office 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (20-minute paid lunch) 

Working Hours: Assignment for about 20 hrs a week in the office (WED, THURS, FRI)

• Proofread and edit product copy and layout to ensure accuracy and improve overall quality.

• Proofreads created products to ensure accuracy against provided materials, including Horticultural copy (plant tags, adhesive labels, posters, banners, cards, listers, fliers, and catalogs), Advertising copy (promotional fliers, press releases, newsletters, listers, catalogs, classified ads, Web site materials, etc.), design, and reference books.
• Verifies that copy and layout are correct in terms of spelling, grammar, typeface, size/style, line spacing, layout, and printing specifications, and corrects mechanical errors detected.

• Minimum Associate’s degree (AA) with a focus on English studies from an accredited college or university.
• Six to twelve months' related experience.
• Must be able to maintain good attendance.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Must pass color vision test.
• Must pass color hue test.
• Must be proficient in MS Office with advanced skills in Excel preferred.
