Supplier Quality Engineer

Salary Range: 50.00 - 55.00 | Per Hour

Responsibilities
- Assess potential new suppliers for their technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities, and provide technical support for introducing components from new suppliers.
- Generate and maintain incoming inspection procedures and train inspectors to adhere to these procedures.
- Develop and/or source inspection tools and equipment.
- Assist in generating component specifications.
- Generate test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification test reports, and approve components for use in products.
- Provide input to Design Engineering on new component technology and assist in component selection with quality and reliability analysis.
- Analyze incoming material defects, determine dispositions, and drive corrective actions as necessary, while communicating issues to suppliers.
- Review new design specifications and provide input from a component quality and manufacturability perspective.
- Investigate field failures related to supplier materials and develop corrective action plans as necessary.
- Lead a project team of moderate scope and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific field with 5-9 years of related work experience.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree with 2-4 years of related work experience.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Experience in developing inspection procedures and training personnel.
- Ability to develop and source inspection tools and equipment.
- Proficiency in generating test protocols and qualification test reports.
- Capability to analyze material defects and drive corrective actions.
- Experience in providing input on design specifications from a quality perspective.
- Ability to lead project teams and guide less experienced staff.
- Familiarity with working in a quality system environment and ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
Pay Range:
