Job Title: Data Engineer / Data Analyst (ETL Modernization) 
Location: Charlotte, NC (CIC) – Hybrid
Duration: 12 months (with possible extension) 

Mission: 

This role will support the team’s ETL modernization and cloud migration efforts, helping transition from a legacy Ab Initio environment to a modern big data platform using Spark. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

• Support ETL development and maintenance in the current Ab Initio environment 
• Work on projects focused on modernizing legacy ETL pipelines to Spark-based solutions 
• Handle large volumes of structured and semi-structured data 
• Collaborate on data migration efforts from on-prem environments to cloud-based platforms 
• Optimize data processing for performance and scalability 
• Engage in Agile SDLC processes, tracking progress and deliverables across velocity and matrix stages 
• Contribute to batch-to-streaming architecture transformation projects 

Must-Have Qualifications: 

• 5–7 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst 
• Hands-on development experience with Ab Initio 
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and performance optimization 
• Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) – should understand concepts like velocity, churn, and matrix stages 
• Experience with Apache Spark, preferably on migration or modernization projects 
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (strong plus) 

Nice-to-Have Skills: 

• Experience with cloud-native data engineering tools 
• Familiarity with streaming data architectures 
• Prior involvement in large-scale data platform migration projects
