Mission:
This role will support the team’s ETL modernization and cloud migration efforts, helping transition from a legacy Ab Initio environment to a modern big data platform using Spark.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst
- Hands-on development experience with Ab Initio
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) – should understand concepts like velocity, churn, and matrix stages
- Experience with Apache Spark, preferably on migration or modernization projects
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (strong plus)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Support ETL development and maintenance in the current Ab Initio environment
- Work on projects focused on modernizing legacy ETL pipelines to Spark-based solutions
- Handle large volumes of structured and semi-structured data
- Collaborate on data migration efforts from on-prem environments to cloud-based platforms
- Optimize data processing for performance and scalability
- Engage in Agile SDLC processes, tracking progress and deliverables across velocity and matrix stages
- Contribute to batch-to-streaming architecture transformation projects
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with cloud-native data engineering tools
- Familiarity with streaming data architectures
- Prior involvement in large-scale data platform migration projects
