• Experience exploring other active and passive sensing modalities such as structured light, stereo, lidar, radar, x-ray, infrared, RFID. 
• Experience with industrial measurement such as barcode extraction, text extraction, dimensioning, and weight, in a manufacturing environment that includes automated conveyance and related safety controls. 
• Experience with multi-sensor systems and non-optical sensing systems. 
• Familiarity with computer vision/machine learning.
