Job Title: iSeries Developer ( RPG)
Location: Charlotte, NC
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Client Industry: Banking
Duration: 18 Months Contract]
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM PST
About the Role:
We’re looking for experienced iSeries Developers to join our technology team. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and modernizing core business applications running on the iSeries (AS/400) platform. This role is ideal for developers comfortable with CL programming, RPG, and enterprise batch/job processing
Key Responsibilities:
DAY TO DAY
- Design, develop, and maintain programs using CL, RPG IV/Free, and related tools on the iSeries platform
- Collaborate with business analysts and other developers to gather requirements and deliver reliable solutions
- Optimize existing batch jobs and workflows for performance and scalability
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure stability of mission-critical systems
- Support data processing tasks and file transfers across systems using tools like FTP, Autosys, and DB2
- Document code, processes, and technical decisions clearly
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience with iSeries / AS400 development
- Strong in CL (Control Language) and RPG (Free and/or IV)
- Experience with job scheduling, file handling, and debugging in i environments
- Comfortable working with DB2 and structured data queries
- Familiarity with integration to modern systems or APIs is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $62 – $65 per hour
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
