Position Details:
Title: Data Security Consultant Purview (3-5 years)
Contract Duration: 6 months (potential extension)
Compensation: $75-$80/hour
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Toronto, ON (In office Tuesday)
Interview Process:
- 1 hour virtual call with Manager
- In-person meeting with Director of Data Security
Must-Haves:
- Proven experience implementing MS Purview including:
- Sensitivity labels
- Endpoint scanner and agent deployment
- Strong background in data discovery tools (e.g., BigID, Varonis, Tanium, Absolute)
- Hands-on experience building or modifying Regex (patterns/scripts for classification)
- Experience conducting and addressing risk assessments, particularly using NEST methodology
- Ability to articulate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of data protection frameworks and best practices
- Experience with change management and stakeholder engagement
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Pluses:
- Previous experience working in the financial services industry
- Experience with automation in data security or classification workflows
- Exposure to people management within security or data governance teams
