Title: Systems Operations Engineer 

Location: Charlotte, NC - (CIC), Chandler, AZ  - Hybrid

Duration:  12 months (with potential to extend or flip perm)

Pay rate : $50 - 52/hr

Job Description:

• The production and development organizations have historically worked closely, supporting applications in a DevOps model.
• The team is now shifting focus toward resiliency and transitioning production responsibilities to the platform team, which is led by this hiring manager.
• The roles are not backfills; this is a new build-out of the team as they scale production operations.
  Role Overview

• These are production-facing roles—not level 1 "catch and dispatch" support, but hands-on production engineers.
• Candidates will be expected to handle incidents, collaborate with operations and business partners, and own the resolution and follow-up.
• Engineers will support a broad ecosystem of payment-related applications, not just the core systems, and will see issues that vary daily.

• Core technologies include:
• Mainframe
• Java on Linux
• Oracle
• ACI product with MTS
• Strong scripting skills are critical (Python, Ansible, Shell) to enable automation efforts.
• While the team is planning a shift to cloud over the next few years, these roles will not be involved with cloud at the start.
• Tools and areas of focus include monitoring, alerting, service operations, service transition, and service improvement (including automation and problem management).
• There's a strategic move happening toward Ansible and GenAI integration for automation and optimization efforts.
