Position Details:
Title: Data Scientist
Location: Hybrid (1x per month) - Markham, ON
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation: $120K–$130K base
Interview: 2-3 Rounds
Start day: ASAP
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance existing data platforms, supporting migration from legacy systems to Azure cloud.
- Lead workforce planning projects, including forecasting business volumes and workforce needs.
- Conduct data discovery, gap analysis, feasibility studies, and proof of concept development.
- Build predictive analytics models using Python (Pandas) and operational datasets.
- Develop dashboards and reports using MicroStrategy and Dash.
- Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, design concepts, and deliver insights.
- Support end-to-end project execution: requirements gathering, coding, QA/testing, and peer training.
- Deliver multiple smaller projects on shorter timelines (vs. long-term research).
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist.
- Strong Python coding skills (Pandas, predictive/operational analytics).
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure.
- Data visualization with MicroStrategy and Dash.
- Proven track record of delivering projects end-to-end.
- Advanced degree; PhD preferred.
- Background in healthcare, banking, or operational workforce planning is an asset.
