Description:
One of our Fortune 100 financial clients is looking for a Mainframe Developer to work out of their Sacramento, CA location.
Summary:
An Application Developer with Mainframe Modernization expertise should have strong understanding of both traditional mainframe systems and modernization initiatives.
The role involves developing code for in-place mainframe modernization as well as migration of mainframe applications to cloud platforms, including z-Cloud, with potential support for migration to other cloud environments.
The developer should have exposure to technologies such as COBOL systems, Java, JSON, APIs, Microservices, SaaS, Edge and off-premises applications, network security, Kubernetes, DevOps, Db2, CICS, WebSphere, and MQ.
Must Have:
- 5+ years of experience in mainframe applications (healthcare claims processing knowledge preferred).
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and mainframe program logic.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM-based CA-MMIS mainframe applications.
- Experience performing unit, integration, and regression testing.
Good to Have:
- Knowledge of Medicaid AR (Accounts Receivable) and cash control processing and support.
- Experience implementing and supporting z/OS Connect APIs to integrate with AWS Cloud technologies.
- Experience implementing and supporting DVM (Data Virtualization Manager) APIs to expose legacy mainframe data to modern interfacing systems.
