Job Location: North Reading, MA 01864 (Hybrid)

Job Duration: 11 Months (Contract to hire)

Pay Rate Range: $49.00/hr to $50.00/hr.

Job Responsibilities:

Services To Be Performed:

• Seeking a results-driven Retrofit Engineer who will be part of the Retrofit Engineering & Program Management team.
• This role will drive Robotics fleet retrofit projects to improve the performance, reliability and safety of globally deployed robotic and automation systems.
• In close collaboration with Hardware Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance and Reliability and Maintenance (RME) partners, this role will own retrofit projects from ideation through execution and validation.

Scope:

• Developing processes to implement product upgrades on fielded Client Robotics products (field retrofits)
• Applying engineering skills and methodologies to validate the retrofit solutions
• Conducting time studies and developing capacity assumptions.
• Creating procedural documentation for use by the technicians implementing the retrofits
• Working with suppliers in support of retrofit tool and materials sourcing.
• Coordinating and tracking status of ongoing retrofit activities with eye for details and escalate to leadership any roadblocks or challenges
• Collect the Voice of the Customer (VOC) data and share success stories during the lessons learnt workshops and review with cross-functional partners in Hardware Engineering and Operations to demonstrate value and efficiency.

Business Group:

• Deploy Retrofits across All Client Robotics Products
• Main Team that deploys and develops processes and implements retrofit solutions.

Daily Schedule:

• Working on Daily tasks with Retrofitting for robotics across the US for Client
• Working with hardware engineers to develop processes and create training for additions to current robotics.

Required Skills:

• Experience with electro-mechanical components and assemblies
• Experience with project management processes and tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel at least 40% of the time (this position will most likely be traveling weekly to the different locations via plane)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the use of Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Experience in design of experiments, process development and/or hardware product design.
• Use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools

Degree or Certification:

Bachelor’s/master’s degree in mechanical engineering
