Description:                                                                                        

  • Duties may include providing direct support to Design, Systems Integration, Test and QA teams within a production environment.
  • The Manufacturing Engineer would also support designing and constructing production space to support producing Engineering Development Units (EDUs), Prototype Units and Flight Units within production spaces (lab spaces, cleanrooms, production floors).
  • The Manufacturing Engineer will also support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) approved by the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • CCB duties include contributing to design modifications to improve quality of product, facilitating manufacturing operations, procurement inquiries, Non-Conformance (NC) reporting, and facilitating approved dispositions via NC/ECOs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Successful candidate can look forward to a fast paced, diverse work environment providing Manufacturing Engineering support for multiple project teams.
  • Support Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) planning and activities
  • Support Major Program reviews such as Preliminary Design, Critical Design, Test Readiness, Production Readiness Reviews (PDR,CDR,TRR,PRR)
  • Develop production documentation such as work instructions, production processes, etc.
  • Support building deliverable Internal and Customer hardware (comfortable with hands-on work desired)
  • Manage small to medium sized engineering projects
  • Work closely with the Production team, Quality and external vendors
  • Ensures that deliverables are accurate and compliant to our Quality Control Procedures
  • Supports Configuration Control Board Meetings

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Experienced using: Office, Teams, Visio, Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to work in a team environment, but also efficient working individually
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain SECRET clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with: SolidWorks, Solidworks PDM, Confluence, JIRA, Windchill, Manufacturing Execution Systems (Example – Solumina),
  • Experience with Aerospace Production Testing and Environmental Stress Screening
  • Experience with handling COTS electronic, electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical packaging
  • Demonstrated experience in the production of electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical systems

Must- Haves (Hard Skills)

  • Manufacturing Engineering/Production Experience with Electro-Mechanical or Opto-Mechanical assembly
  • Must have created or managed Work Instructions and Work Orders in previous experience (technical writing skills)

Nice-To- Haves (Hard Skills)

  • Manufacturing/Production Experience (Ideally from and Aerospace Company)

Must- Haves (Soft Skills)

  • Proficient in  Office Products (Excel, Word, etc)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing execution system

Nice-To- Haves (Soft Skills)

  • Solidworks and Solidworks PDM Experience

Degree Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, 1-2 years of relevant experience

    Salary Range : $34/hr -$43/hr
