Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage Linux-based infrastructure hosting critical applications and services.

• Perform daily health checks on databases, GRID computing, schedulers, and messaging platforms.

• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application-level issues.

• Support release deployments and ensure infrastructure readiness during changes.

• Participate in incident and problem management, ensuring root cause analysis and prevention.

• Monitor infrastructure performance using internal tools and address anomalies.

• Manage and support infrastructure maintenance activities (e.g., patching, upgrades).

• Assist in migration projects such as datacenter moves, server migrations, or directory restructures.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during change management and incident response.

• Maintain documentation of system configurations, changes, and issue resolutions.

• Work in rotational shifts including weekends (10:30 AM – 7:30 PM CST or as required).

Required Skills

• Strong Linux OS expertise (internals, configuration, troubleshooting).

• Experience with IT infrastructure maintenance and upgrade procedures.

• Proficiency in monitoring tools and infrastructure health checks.

• Knowledge of scripting languages: Python, Shell, or Perl.

• Good understanding of network management and basic troubleshooting.

• Exposure to enterprise job scheduling and GRID computing environments.

• Ability to handle incident/problem/change management processes.

• Skilled in root cause analysis and performance tuning.
