Technical Support Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Remotely install or troubleshoot proprietary software and hardware, including cameras and evidence management systems.
- Provide courteous, knowledgeable support via phone and email.
- Ensure timely, accurate system setups and phone support, including off-hours on-call support.
- Monitor chat sessions and assist team members.
- Test and adjust systems to ensure functionality.
- Follow departmental processes and metrics.
- Log customer issues and troubleshooting steps.
- Train customers on system use.
- Manage time effectively and escalate issues appropriately.
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of technical troubleshooting and/or customer service experience.
- Preferred 2 years of networking experience.
- Must pass an onsite technical assessment.
Skills/Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of routers, switches, VLANs, VPN, DHCP, TCP/IP, WIFI technologies, and internet protocols.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMWare) and writing PowerShell scripts.
- Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, MCP, MCSE, CNA, CCNA, Linux.
- Proficiency with Service Now, G-Suite, Bomgar, Windows.
- Public safety environment experience is desirable.
- Top Contributions in Initial Period:
- Provide knowledgeable troubleshooting support.
- Maintain detailed logs in the ticketing system.
- Adhere to departmental processes and metrics.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 2+ years of networking and customer service experience.
- Linux and Windows OS experience.
- Relevant certifications (CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Cellular network configuration, POE (Power Over Ethernet), NetCloud.
- Experience with in-car dash and body cameras and evidence management software.
Software Proficiency:
- Service Now, G-Suite, Bomgar, Windows.
Pay Range:
