About the Role:

• We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bioanalytical Chemist to join our Discovery Metabolomics team within the Crop Health Research & Development sector.
• In this role, you will contribute to the discovery of novel biologicals by analyzing microbial fermentation and small molecule samples using LC-MS technologies.

Pay Rate: $40 – $46 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute analytical methods to generate LC-MS data from microbial fermentation samples, including crude extracts, fractions, and semi-pure mixtures.
• Analyze targeted and untargeted LC-MS data for titer assessment of natural products using specialized data analysis software.
• Collaborate with senior scientists to validate and enhance LC-MS and data analysis methods, supporting improved performance and faster discovery timelines.
• Work cross-functionally with teams in microbiology, informatics, and compound isolation to support metabolomics research.
• Prepare and deliver internal presentations and detailed research reports.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical or Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a closely related field.

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and mass spectrometry (MS).
• Strong understanding of core chemistry principles.
• Collaborative, proactive work style with excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Formal training in analytical chemistry and/or metabolomics.
• Prior research experience in an academic or industrial laboratory.
• Experience operating Thermo mass spectrometers or HPLC systems.
• Familiarity with LC-MS data analysis software and molecular networking tools.
• Knowledge of natural product isolation and fermentation science.
