About the Role:
- We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Proofreader and Editor to join our team.
- The primary focus of this role is to ensure the accuracy and quality of product copy and layout.
- This position involves proofreading a variety of materials, including horticultural and advertising copy, and editing for consistency and style.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure copy and layout are correct in terms of spelling, grammar, typeface, size/style, line spacing, layout, and printing specifications, and correct any mechanical errors.
- Edit newly created copy and layouts for sense, readability, consistency, style, and conformity to automation requirements.
- Draft Standard Operating Procedures as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education:
- Minimum Associate’s degree (AA) with a focus on English studies from an accredited college or university.
Required Skills
- Six to twelve months of related experience.
- Ability to maintain good attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Successful completion of color vision and color hue tests.
- Strong communication skills in English, including speaking, understanding, and writing.
- Ability to work in a moderate noise environment typical of a business office with computers, printers, and telephone communication.
