Day To Day Responsbilities:

Lead the end-to-end migration and rewrite of an existing Java 8 application to Java 17 using JBoss.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess current architecture, and plan the modernization strategy.

Write clean, efficient, and scalable code in Java 17 to rebuild core functionalities of the legacy system.

Serve as a hands-on developer for approximately 50% of the time, actively contributing to the codebase.

Oversee and guide a team of 3 Java developers, assigning tasks, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior team members.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to migration, integration, and performance.

Ensure compatibility and seamless transition from Apache Tomcat 9 to JBoss application server.

Coordinate with QA and DevOps teams to support testing, deployment, and production readiness.

Communicate project status, blockers, and technical decisions clearly with stakeholders and leadership.

Maintain documentation for newly developed components, migration steps, and system architecture changes.
