Day To Day Responsbilities:

• Lead the end-to-end migration and rewrite of an existing Java 8 application to Java 17 using JBoss.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess current architecture, and plan the modernization strategy.

• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code in Java 17 to rebuild core functionalities of the legacy system.

• Serve as a hands-on developer for approximately 50% of the time, actively contributing to the codebase.

• Oversee and guide a team of 3 Java developers, assigning tasks, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior team members.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to migration, integration, and performance.

• Ensure compatibility and seamless transition from Apache Tomcat 9 to JBoss application server.

• Coordinate with QA and DevOps teams to support testing, deployment, and production readiness.

• Communicate project status, blockers, and technical decisions clearly with stakeholders and leadership.

• Maintain documentation for newly developed components, migration steps, and system architecture changes.

MUST HAVES

• 10-15 years of experience as a Java Developer
• Migration/Upgrade/Rewrite project experience from Java 8 to Java 17
• Jboss Experience
