About the Role

  • We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to provide intermediate-level administrative and intake services for patients receiving inpatient or outpatient care.
  • This role is vital in ensuring a seamless patient experience by collecting accurate information, facilitating appointments, managing insurance processes, and supporting clinical staff with clerical tasks.

Pay Range: $18 - $20 an hr.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with patients to collect demographic, insurance, and medical information.

  • Verify insurance eligibility and secure necessary authorizations to ensure timely reimbursement for services.

  • Accurately enter and update patient registration data in the system.

  • Provide clear and accurate information related to medical, financial, or procedural matters to patients and approved third parties.

  • Handle co-payments, deposits, and financial discussions with patients and/or their families.

  • Direct patients to appropriate departments, arrange patient transport, and answer incoming calls.

  • Offer general clerical support to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Prepare forms, maintain patient records and charts, and manage inventory of front desk supplies.

  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient experience.

  • Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting or patient-facing administrative role preferred.

Skill & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of patient registration and insurance processes.

  • Familiarity with medical billing, insurance claims, and authorization procedures.

  • Proficient with computers and healthcare software systems.

  • Skilled in maintaining accurate and confidential patient records.

  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

  • Bilingual abilities (Spanish/English) highly preferred.
