PWB Designer
Contract: San Diego, California, US
Salary Range: 55.00 - 62.00 | Per Hour

Role and Responsibilities:
- Design and document printed wiring board layouts that adhere to manufacturing standards, industry norms, and design guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with electrical and mechanical design teams to generate PWB layouts from schematics and design constraints.
- Develop PWB design solutions for 5G and 6G projects, ensuring all project goals and requirements are met.
- Reference designs for Auto, Mobile, Infrastructure, IoT, and Compute to develop form factor accurate (FFA) test platforms for high-volume circuit boards.
- Work with teams in the US and India to deliver high-performance electronic assemblies across various domains.
- Utilize Mentor Xpedition, PADS, and/or Cadence Allegro for PWB design.
- Support PWB fabrication and assembly in collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Attend onsite meetings weekly for team and project collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in PWB design for high-density electronics packaging.
- 4+ years in a PWB design role focused on consumer-grade mobile products or low-volume test products using advanced processor chips and ICs.
- Proficiency in Design for Manufacture (DFM) analysis with tools such as Valor and/or CAM350.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a Technical Field, Electronics preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in large/high-density digital designs with high layer counts (24-34 layers) and multiple FPGAs (>1500 pins) with high-speed digital signals.
- Mastery in digital processors, RF, radio circuits, and power control devices.
- Experience with micro-vias (stacked), sequential lamination stack-ups, and design rules for packages with .35 mm pitch and smaller.
- Familiarity with RF, Analog, and High-speed digital circuits: DDR2, 3 & 4, LPDDR5, HDMI, PCIe, SATA, MIPI, USB 2,3.x, GigE.
- Ability to tackle complex PWB design tasks and understand fabrication and assembly process capabilities.
- Proven multitasking skills and the ability to meet aggressive schedules in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in EMI mitigation techniques and IDF/EMN file exchange.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership skills to direct, prioritize, and clearly set project tasks and communicate milestones.
