Position Details:
Title: Python QA Automation Developer
Type: 6-Month Contract + Opportunity to Extend
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Model: Mon–Thurs Onsite (4 days/week), 37.5 hours/week
Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: $75/hour -$80/hour
Interview Process: 2 rounds – 1 virtual technical IV and 1 in-person
Must haves:
- 5 years of experience as an Automation Developer and Mindset of an SDET
- 3 years of Capital markets experience with a strong understanding of Front, Middle, and back office trading lifecycle
- Previous experience of automation testing on back-end applications
- 5 years’ experience with Python
- 5 years’ of experience Pytest Framework. Previous experience developing test cases and enhancing automation in an Python/ Py Test Environment
- SQL experience
- Data Validation experience
- Strong understanding of Data Validation Testing, looking at back-end outputs and inputs
- Strong understanding of Cloud concepts and Storage, preferably with AWS
- Strong grasp of CI/CD concepts, ecosystem, and best practices.
- Proficient with GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins. While the team currently uses GitHub Actions, experience with Jenkins or similar tools is equally acceptable.
- Capable of building event-driven automation pipelines triggered by actions such as code commits, pull requests, or merges.
- Strong understanding to Testing Lifecycle: Automation, Regression. Smoke, and UAT testing
- Self-driven and can wear multiple hats
