Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Candidate’s Local Time Zone)
Pay Rate: $15/hr - $17/hr 

Job Description: Scheduling Coordinator
  • Responsible for coordinating and scheduling patients for services at various ophthalmology practices in a timely, professional, and courteous manner using scripting and scheduling guidelines established by the practices.

Essential Functions:
  • Contact eligible members via outbound calls to schedule annual Retinal Eye Tests.
  • Receive patient calls in a high-volume call center environment.
  • Schedule patients with appropriate providers using internal systems and appointment availability.
  • Collect and input relevant patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Educate patients on the referral process and coordinate diagnostic testing as needed.
  • Navigate multiple systems while actively engaging with members over the phone.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and empathy during all interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
Must-Have Skills:
  • Excel (basic proficiency: navigating columns, sorting, filtering)
  • Experience using Outlook
  • 2–3 years of call center experience, preferably in a healthcare-related field
  • High-speed internet connection to support multiple systems
  • A dedicated, private, and quiet home work area
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with NextGen
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Soft Skills:
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Energetic, empathetic, and initiative-driven

Additional Information:
  • No weekends or overtime required
  • 2–3 day of virtual training provided before going live
  • 30–45 minute interview via MS Teams
