Position Details:
Title: Senior SharePoint and Purview Engineer
Duration: 6+ months
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 day in office, 2 day WFH (flexible which days)
Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: $60-$70/hour
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Refactor or redesign long-running PowerShell scripts used for SharePoint permissioning and automation.
- Troubleshoot issues related to SPO access, sharing, and compliance posture.
- Develop solutions using Graph API to enhance automation and reporting capabilities.
- Configure and enforce MS Purview policies including labels, retention rules, and governance frameworks.
- Support SharePoint permission reviews and implement improvements to align with best security practices.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal teams on testing and upgrade readiness.
- Manage and mitigate throttling issues using API header responses.
Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting and Graph API in enterprise environments.
- 7–8 years of hands-on experience with SharePoint, including legacy and modern environments.
- 7–8 years of experience with MS Purview, focusing on data governance, labeling, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint Online security architecture, data lifecycle, and access control.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex SPO and Purview issues across multiple geolocations.
Pluses:
- Experience working in large, enterprise-scale environments.
- Familiarity with managing SharePoint across multi-geo configurations.
