Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Biologist II to join our Immunology Discovery team based in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate will support cross-functional research programs focused on advancing discovery projects through in vitro experimentation, data analysis, and collaborative problem-solving.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative immunology and organoid research in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, working closely with scientists across multiple teams.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and maintain human colon organoid culture, including passaging and plating for experimental use.
  • Conduct cell-based in vitro assays using mammalian cell lines and primary human immune cells (e.g., myeloid cells, PBMCs).
  • Test small molecules and biologics in cell-based assays for readouts such as cytokine release, proliferation, and gene expression.
  • Execute molecular and cellular biology techniques, including flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA, MSD, HTRF, and qPCR.
  • Process animal tissue ex vivo and isolate immune cells from human or animal tissues or blood as needed.
  • Design, execute, and interpret experiments to validate hypotheses aligned with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate organoid and immune cell requirements.
  • Implement and optimize new laboratory protocols and experimental approaches.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present data clearly and concisely in group and individual meetings.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with research quality and safety standards.
Top Skills Required:
  • Hands-on experience with human organoid culture.
  • Experience with in vitro assays using primary human immune cells (myeloid, PBMCs).
  • Proficiency in molecular and cellular analysis techniques (qPCR, MSD, ELISA, flow cytometry).
  • Strong technical, analytical, and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a collaborative environment.
Experience Required:
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical industry setting.
  • Proven expertise in cell culture, particularly handling primary epithelial and immune cells.
  • Experience with cell-based assay development and immunoassay techniques (ELISA, MSD, HTRF).
  • Familiarity with gene expression analysis (qPCR) and ex vivo tissue processing (preferred).
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related life sciences field required.
  • An advanced degree is preferred but not required.
