Job Title: Welding Specialist – Advanced Processes & Automation
Job Location: Seattle, WA 98101
Job Duration: 11 Months Contract
Pay Rate: $32 / hr to $36.50 / hr
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Specialist with expertise in both traditional and advanced welding processes, including automation and laser welding. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the ability to optimize and troubleshoot automated welding systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate a variety of welding processes: MIG, TIG, Stick, laser welding, robotic welding cells, and automated systems.

Program, configure, and optimize robotic and laser welding parameters.
-
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
-
Perform complex welding operations on diverse materials: steel alloys, aluminum, titanium, nickel-based alloys.
-
Develop and refine welding procedures for both manual and automated applications.
-
Troubleshoot and maintain automated welding and PLC-based equipment.
-
Conduct inspections and assist in weld testing procedures.
-
Provide technical feedback on weldment design and manufacturability.

Train and mentor junior welders in both manual and automated processes.
Required Qualifications:
-
5+ years of professional welding experience.

Proven expertise with automated welding systems and/or laser welding.
-
Strong understanding of robotic programming, PLCs, and automation interfaces.

Current welding certifications (specific certifications as required).

Strong knowledge of metallurgy, material properties, and GD&T.

Experience with inspection and quality control procedures.

Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on experience programming robotic welding systems.

Advanced knowledge of laser welding technology.

Experience with exotic materials and precision manufacturing.

Background in welding process automation and optimization.

Familiarity with additive manufacturing and emerging technologies.
