Job Title: Mainframe Consultant
Location: Addison, TX 75001
Work Arrangement: Onsite (5 day in office)
Client Industry: Banking / Financial Services
Duration: 12 Months Contract (with possible extension)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, standard business hours
Pay Range: $70 – $75 per hour

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced mainframe developer with deep expertise in COBOL, SAS, and DB2 to support and enhance mission-critical legacy systems. This role involves maintaining high-performance applications, modernizing legacy codebases, and ensuring seamless data integration across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL, SAS, JCL, and DB2-based applications in a z/OS environment.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform performance tuning, and ensure adherence to coding and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate legacy mainframe systems with modern platforms and APIs.
• Support modernization initiatives including upgrades, migrations, and re-platforming of legacy applications.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in COBOL and SAS programming.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with DB2 in a mainframe environment.
• Strong knowledge of: JCL, REXX and DB2 utilities (e.g., LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG)
• SQL performance tuning and optimization
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
