Title: Welding Specialist 
Type (Contract): 11 month's Contract
Location: Seattle, WA (SEA 109) (Fully onsite) 
Pay rate: $30 - $35/Hour
 
DAY TO DAY:
  • Set up and operate various welding processes, including Traditional (MIG, TIG, Stick), Laser welding systems, and Robotic/Automated welding cells. 
  • Program, operate, and maintain automated welding systems; configure and optimize laser welding parameters. 
  • Interpret and execute complex work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols (including GD&T). 
  • Develop and optimize welding procedures and parameters for both manual and automated processes. 
  • Monitor automated systems, troubleshoot automation equipment (including PLC systems/interfaces), and resolve technical issues quickly. 
  • Conduct visual inspection of welds, assist with weld testing procedures, and execute proper material preparation and fit-up. 
  • Provide technical feedback on weldment design and manufacturability, and train/mentor less experienced welders in both manual and automated processes. 
  • Execute work independently while seeking guidance when needed, maintain high-quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 
     
MUST HAVES 
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional, hands-on welding experience. 
  • Specialized Knowledge: Proven experience with automated welding systems and/or laser welding. 
  • Technical Foundational Skills: Strong knowledge of metallurgy and material properties. 
  • Automation/Robotics: Understanding of robotic programming and operations and experience with PLC systems and automated equipment interfaces. 
  • Certifications: Current and relevant welding certifications (specific certifications as required by the company/industry). 
  • Core Competencies: Proven expertise in multiple welding processes and positions, ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, and strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills. 
 
PLUSSES 
  • Experience programming robotic welding systems. 
  • Advanced knowledge of laser welding technology. 
  • Experience with exotic materials (e.g., titanium, nickel-based alloys) and specialized welding processes. 
  • Background in weld process automation and optimization. 
  • Experience in a precision manufacturing environment. 
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technologies. 
  • Interest in additive manufacturing and new manufacturing technologies.
