Purpose:
The Laboratory Analyst uses scientific education and analytical chemistry experience to perform simple to moderately complex laboratory testing within a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment. This role generates accurate results, interprets data to ensure conformance to specifications, and contributes as a team member in API, Raw Material, In-Process, and Drug Product testing laboratories.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and verify laboratory techniques independently, adapting to unforeseen technical or logistical challenges.
- Troubleshoot and resolve analytical instrument or technique issues.
- Participate in team decision-making and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks and recommend improvements.
- Take ownership of special projects to support laboratory operations.
- Communicate proactively with supervisors and team members to ensure timely product release.
- Assist during audits and interface with regulatory agencies as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (0–4 years of lab experience) OR Associate degree with 3 years of lab experience.
- Flexibility in shift and workdays preferred.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks based on training matrix.
- Strong interpersonal, documentation, and communication skills.
- Desired technical competencies (not all required): LC, LCMS, GC, GCMS, ICP, Empower, Karl Fischer, dissolution, IR, titrations, and common wet chemical testing.
