Purpose:
The Data Science and Analytics team is an ambitious group of Data Scientists and Data Engineers with a unique blend of business, scientific, and machine learning expertise. We aim to unlock the full potential of Client’s data assets by delivering fit-for-purpose, data-driven solutions that inform critical decisions. The Senior Data Scientist plays a key role in applying advanced analytics techniques across clinical development, driving innovation, and generating actionable insights to solve complex R&D challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute analytics needs for assigned clinical trials, ensuring alignment with therapeutic objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities for advanced analytics, including machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), to address complex clinical research questions.
- Develop RBQM deliverables (KRIs/QTLs), study-specific reports, and analyses to support data review and decision-making.
- Serve as an analytics consultant, guiding work design, anticipating risks, and proposing solutions to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Establish and maintain design principles and standards to ensure consistency and optimize user experience across analytics projects.
- Develop prototypes, algorithms, and novel statistical methods leveraging ML, AI, and emerging analytical techniques.
- Support precision medicine initiatives and broader clinical development analytics.
- Ensure compliance with federal and local regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH Guidelines, and Client SOPs.
- Design and deliver standard KPIs, dashboards, and statistical analyses to monitor clinical trial progress.
- Facilitate discussions with stakeholders on emerging risks and analytical opportunities to enhance trial outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Analytics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of analytics experience in clinical research, demonstrating high-level analytical and leadership capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in R, Python, or other statistical software; intermediate-level knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques.
- Expertise in visualization tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex analytical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills within a matrixed organization.
- Experience fostering innovation and promoting continuous learning within a team environment.
- Adaptable to changing priorities and thrives in dynamic, fast-moving work settings.
