Position: Mechanical Engineering Manager

Type: 11 months contract
Location: Remote (occasional company-sponsored travel)

Day to day:

• Drive project execution by managing multiple large-scale industrial projects, ensuring they stay on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Set and enforce design standards for HVAC and Plumbing systems, acting as the key liaison between internal and external design/construction teams.
• Provide expert technical oversight, reviewing and approving MEP designs, ensuring compliance with all codes, standards (ASHRAE), and regulations.
• Lead project value optimization through conducting Value Engineering (VE), implementing cost/schedule mitigation measures, and managing all project financial documentation.
• Manage, mentor, and lead the MEP engineering team, while clearly communicating technical content and project updates to all stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Ensure quality control and risk management through on-site audits, managing change orders, and resolving complex technical and inter-discipline coordination issues. 

Must haves:

• 10+ years of project management experience from design development through construction administration on complex commercial projects (industrial experience preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Expert-level knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and industry regulations.
• Extensive experience with MEP systems, building HVAC, and Plumbing.
• Demonstrated proficiency in BIM coordination and clash detection on developing projects.
• Advanced proficiency in key software: MS Office Suite, Revu, and Revit, BIM 360 or Navisworks.
• Proven record of leading multi-discipline coordination.
• Superior verbal and written communication, organization, and presentation skills.

Salary and Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is between $60 - $62 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
