About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced iSeries (AS400) Developer to join our technology team in Charlotte, NC. This role involves hands-on development using RPG (Free/IV) and CL, ensuring the performance, reliability, and stability of critical business systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for solving complex problems within enterprise-scale environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using CL, RPG IV/Free, and related iSeries tools.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Optimize and enhance existing batch jobs, processes, and workflows for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to maintain high system availability.
- Manage data processing tasks and perform file transfers across systems using FTP, Autosys, and DB2.
- Create clear and comprehensive documentation for code, technical designs, and workflows.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience developing on iSeries / AS400 platforms.
- Strong proficiency in CL (Control Language) and RPG (Free and/or IV).
- Solid understanding of DB2 databases and structured data queries.
- Experience with job scheduling, file handling, and debugging in i environments.
- Familiarity with system integrations or APIs is a strong plus.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $60– $65 per hour
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
