Position Title: Associate Engineer
Location: Onsite - Multiple locations (Wilmington, NC / Dunwoody, GA / Grand Rapids, Muskegon/Fremont, Traverse City, Boyne City, and Benzonia in MI)
Duration: 06 months (Contract to hire)
Pay Range: $27/hr - $30/hr
Associate Distribution Engineer – Overview
- Support the design and construction of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems (4kV–138kV) under the supervision of a technical lead.
- Prepare detailed engineering work packages, perform structural and electrical calculations (pole loading, guying, conductor sag, voltage drop), and develop permitting documents.
- Conduct site inspections, ensure compliance with safety and design standards, and provide technical support during and after construction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET-accredited program; proficiency in MS Office; ability to travel for fieldwork; strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with tools such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, SOCKET, Spida-Calc, CAD/MicroStation, GIS, and knowledge of NESC and utility design standards.
