Job Title: HIL Engineer

Location: Windsor, ON N8W 5B5 - Onsite Role

Duration: 12 Months (Extension/Conversion will be based on performance) On-site role

Pay Range: ($41-$43.65) hourly
 
Description:
  • HIL engineer will be responsible for the development of HIL projects based on the requirements of the product development team.
  • The job will entail creating and maintaining plant models and Hardware that represent Brake & Steering subsystems and Vehicle controllers (ABS, ESC, EPS, ECU).
  • The HIL engineer will also be required to support the ongoing projects to integrate the HIL subsystems and controllers to our Driving Simulators
  • Responsibilities will also include the development of SOPs, tools, and methodologies for enhancing the usage of the HIL and the integration with the Driving Simulators
Top three must-haves:
  • Experience with dSPACE, Hardware & Software (ControlDesk)
  • Experience with CAN/CANFD, SPI, LIN, ECU Flashing, UDS, XCP, CANalyzer, CANoe.
  • Work experience on HIL/MIL/SIL projects
Requirements:
  • Master of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program.
  • 5+ years of work experience on HIL/MIL/SIL projects
  • Experience with dSPACE, Hardware & Software (ControlDesk)
  • 2 years of experience (University research projects may be included) in developing
  • Experience with HIL IO mapping, electrical/wiring harness, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with CAN/CANFD, SPI, LIN, ECU Flashing
  • Experience with Diagnostics Protocols and Tools: UDS, XCP, CANalyzer, CANoe.
  • Experience in using Simulink/ Matlab to develop HIL plant models
  • Experience in systematic troubleshooting on HIL simulation systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate activities with other functional groups.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong Data analytical skills and the ability to interpret data for senior management reviews.
  • Ability to travel to the USA for meetings.
  • Must have a valid driving license
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience in the Automotive Industry with ADAS, Brake and Steering subsystems - ECU, ABS ESP, ESC.
  • Understanding of basic vehicle dynamics theory and application
  • Developing vehicle dynamic models using CarSim, CarRealTime
  • Programming experience in Python, C/ C++.
  • Self-motivated, with good project planning skills
  • Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
