Role Summary:
 The R&D Engineer will provide cybersecurity engineering support in the development of new invasive and non-invasive medical device products. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams (Systems, Software, Electrical, Regulatory, Quality) to ensure all cybersecurity requirements, testing, and documentation align with FDA and global regulatory standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement cybersecurity threat models, architecture, and risk management for embedded medical systems.
 - Conduct and oversee cybersecurity testing and validation, including penetration testing.
 - Apply NIST, OWASP, ISO frameworks to standardize cybersecurity practices.
 - Collaborate across teams to ensure cybersecurity compliance throughout the product development lifecycle.
 - Stay current on cybersecurity trends and integrate best practices into medical device design.
 
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
 - 7+ years software development experience, including 5+ years in cybersecurity.
 - Strong understanding of cybersecurity architecture, risk management, and threat modeling (STRIDE).
 - Experience with NIST, OWASP, ISO frameworks.
 - Prior exposure to regulated medical device environments (FDA, EU-MDR, etc.).
 - Experience in embedded systems or application security.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related engineering field.
 - Experience working on Electrophysiology products or embedded medical software.
 - Familiarity with Agile development and formal software development methodologies.
 - Exposure to penetration testing and external cybersecurity assessments.
