Overview:
- The Scientist II will perform routine single-plex and multiplex immunohistochemistry (IHC) to support drug discovery programs in areas such as target validation, distribution, pharmacology, and exploratory safety studies. The role requires precision, independence, and familiarity with Leica Bond Rx instrumentation, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary research team environment.
Major Responsibilities:
- Perform IHC and in situ hybridization (ISH) using Leica Bond Rx platform.
- Execute single-plex and multiplex IHC assays for various research studies.
- Utilize Lumiphores COMET platform for multiplex staining (training provided).
- Track and manage laboratory samples using Sample Manager and Dream Path systems.
- Collaborate with pathologists and project teams to ensure high-quality data delivery.
- Maintain detailed experimental records following established protocols and documentation standards.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety and quality compliance practices.
- Prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects independently.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. in Biology, Chemistry, or related scientific field
- Immunohistochemistry experience from a pharmaceutical, CRO, or biotech company
- Working knowledge of IHC / ISH on Leica Bond Rx platform
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to laboratory protocols
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, OneNote, Word)
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
- QIHC certification (Qualified in Immunohistochemistry)
- 3–5 years of experience in histology or pathology laboratories
- Experience troubleshooting IHC assays
- Exposure to multiplex IHC (e.g., Lumiphores COMET)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
