Position: Bilingual (French) HR Business Partner
Location: Downtown Toronto
Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 (depending on seniority)
Work Schedule: 3 day/week onsite

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Collabra is looking for a Bilingual HR Business Partner to join a large commercial insurance company located downtown Toronto. This is a dynamic, wear-multiple-hats role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mid-to-large corporate environment but not coming from a very large bureaucracy. The successful candidate will:

  • Act as a strategic partner to people managers across Canada, supporting employee relations, promotions, performance management, PIPs, and business cases for talent decisions.

  • Lead talent acquisition efforts, managing 6–10 requisitions at a time, representing  40% of the role.

  • Collaborate on business partnership initiatives (30%), supporting workforce planning, succession planning, and HR strategy.

  • Manage project-based work (15%), including compliance projects such as Bill 96 (Quebec), working closely with the legal department.

  • Oversee social wellness initiatives (15%), including diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, corporate volunteering, social commitments, and corporate services responsibilities.

  • Serve as a liaison for learning and development programs, ensuring managers and employees understand enterprise-wide protocols without directly building or coordinating programs.

  • Support various Canadian business units, fostering consistent HR practices and promoting employee engagement.

 

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

  • Bilingual: English and French (mandatory).

  • 5+ years of HR experience in business partnering and/or talent acquisition.

  • Strong experience in full-cycle recruitment (6–10 requisitions at a time).

  • Proven ability to advise managers on employee relations, performance management, and promotions.

  • Experience supporting multiple business units across geographies.

  • Solid understanding of HR compliance, employment standards, and diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices.

  • Previous experience in mid-size companies or fast-growing organizations.

 

Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with HR projects in Quebec (e.g., Bill 96 or other provincial legislation).

  • Exposure to corporate social responsibility programs and employee wellness initiatives.

  • Familiarity with learning and development frameworks and communication of HR policies.
