Job Summary:
This role supports Process Chemistry and Engineering operations within the API group. The Scientist I will manage laboratory organization, equipment readiness, chemical inventories, and routine maintenance activities. The position contributes to efficient lab operations, assists researchers with experimental setups, maintains HPLC/UPLC/LC-MS instruments, and ensures safe, compliant laboratory practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain laboratories in a clean, safe, and fully functional state, applying 5S principles for efficiency.
- Maintain shared instruments, including UPLCs and anLC-MSMS systems, through routine periodic maintenance.
- Assist with relocation and setup of equipment during lab renovations.
- Manage laboratory equipment and chemical inventories, including organizing periodic clean-outs.
- Coordinate routine maintenance of isolators, potent handling equipment, and PPE supply management.
- Develop and maintain freezer inventory systems and manage defrost cycles.
- Set up experimental apparatus and assist researchers with experiments under supervision.
- Create work aids for operating equipment and train new users.
- Promote and enforce safe laboratory work practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
- Laboratory experience.
- Working knowledge of HPLC.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organization and multitasking abilities.
- Safety-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Skilled with tools and hands-on equipment assembly.
- Experience supporting laboratory operations or instrument maintenance.
