About the Role

• We are hiring an DB2 Mainframe Database Developer to join our client’s Banking & Finance on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the most innovative Banking companies in the U.S. You’ll help drive business outcomes, tech goals, transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan subscriptions to maintain related sets of tables with minimal maintenance.
• Set up notifications and alerts for database monitoring.
• Build Splunk dashboards to monitor the replication environment.
• Collaborate with other DB2 teams to establish log retention policies for extended outages.
• Translate business requirements into a physical model, focusing on processing requirements, performance, availability, recoverability, and data access methods.
• Consult with application teams on ACF2 and RACF managed database security to ensure appropriate data access.
• Define and implement application-specific backup and recovery strategies for production environments.
• Support product upgrades related to DB2 replication, acting as a communication point for development teams and completing DBA remediation activities.
• Provide performance tuning support and recommendations for database calls in cooperation with the application development team.
• Monitor and address items on exception reports to ensure a stable production environment.
• Participate in DBA production on-call rotation, including 24x7 SEV1 test support.
• Conduct information-sharing meetings with application teams as requested.
• Support Self-Identified Audits, Control assessments, Database Audits, and SOX reviews, ensuring deliverables are complete and correct.

What We’re Looking For

• In-depth knowledge of Mainframe DB2 DBA (DB2 on z/OS) with a focus on replication.
• Strong understanding of Infosphere Change Data Capture.
• Experience with DB2 Utilities
• Working knowledge of tools, including Change Manager, Catalog Manager, Mainview, and SQL Performance.
• Strong understanding of VSAM file structures and IDCAMS utility.
• Solid understanding of DB2 recovery options.
• Broad understanding of ACF2 and RACF2 managed security for DB2 Access.
• Working knowledge of Endevor.
• Familiarity with ITSM Processes and tools, including BMC Remedy.
• Strong communication skills. 

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $[65.00] – $[70.00] per hour 
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
