Job Title: Event management Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL / Denver, CO

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Client Industry: Banking

Duration:12-18 Months (Possibility of Full-Time Conversion)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the configuration, tuning, and support of Watson AIOps, including topology, event correlation, and AI-driven insights.
• Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to integrate event management into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments.
• Develop and maintain event ingestion pipelines from various monitoring tools and infrastructure sources.
• Implement automation and remediation workflows using Watson AIOps and related tools.
• Analyze event noise, identify patterns, and continuously improve event correlation and suppression strategies.
• Support the transition from legacy platforms (e.g., Netcool, NOI) to Watson AIOps.
• Create and maintain documentation for event flows, integrations, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with  Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps, including event manager, topology, and runbook automation.
• Strong understanding of event management principles, monitoring tools, and observability practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and integration.
• Knowledge of Kafka, REST APIs, and webhook-based integrations.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Cloud) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $70 – $75 per hour

This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
