Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 — 100% Onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday, rotating 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
Training Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay Range: $39.00 - $45.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriate formulation, and required ingredients.
- Compound medications following established procedures, formulas, and safety controls.
- Direct and support pharmacy staff in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Provide drug information to customers regarding interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
- Maintain procedures for quality assurance, controlled substances security, and hazardous waste disposal.
- Enter and manage prescription data, patient information, and related pharmacy system records.
- Conduct medication assays to verify identity, purity, and strength.
- Train interns and support personnel on pharmacy processes.
- Work in a distribution environment with occasional cart movement (up to ~30 lbs; no heavy lifting).
- Rotate shifts weekly; must be comfortable standing for the majority of the day.
Must Have:
- Active Illinois Pharmacist License (license number must appear on the resume).
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience, preferably with retail employers (CVS, Walgreens, Target, etc.).
- Retail, mail-order, or specialty pharmacy experience acceptable.
- Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn and grow within the role.
- Comfortable with contractor pay structure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and push carts when needed (up to 30 lbs).
Preferred:
- Mail-order or high-volume industrial pharmacy experience.
- Experience handling large prescription order volumes.
- Customer-facing pharmacy experience (future interaction possible).
