 Roles and Responsibilities:
The Senior Data Engineer designs and builds data foundations and end-to-end solutions for Shell’s business to maximize value from data. The role helps create a data-driven culture within the organization—not just within IT teams, but across the broader business stakeholder community .A Senior Data Engineer is expected to be a subject matter expert who designs and builds data solutions while mentoring junior engineers. They are key drivers in converting vision and data strategy into practical IT solutions and delivering results.

  •  Coordinates change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
  •  Presents reports and findings to stakeholders and serves as the subject matter expert on Data Analysis and Design.
  •  Drives implementation efficiency and effectiveness across pilots and future projects  to minimize cost, increase speed, and maximize value delivery.
  •  Contributes to community-building initiatives such as Centers of Excellence (CoE) and Communities of Practice (CoP).

  •  Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, SAP – Master
  •  ELT Processes: Master
  •  Data Modeling: Master
  •  Data Integration & Ingestion: Skilled
  •  Data Manipulation & Processing: Skilled
  •  Version Control / CI-CD: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps – Skilled
  •  Data Tools & Services: Data Factory, Databricks, SQL DB, Synapse, Stream Analytics,
  •  Glue, Airflow, Kinesis, Redshift, SonarQube, PyTest – Skilled
 Optional Skills:
  • Experience in project management or leading a Scrum team
  •  Experience with BPC or Planning tools
  •  Exposure to external technical ecosystems
  •  MKDocs documentation experience
