Position: Warehouse Automation Engineer (Techno-Functional)

Location(s): Boston, MA / New York City / Virginia-DC Area
Day to day:

Integrate URL machines into existing MHE and warehouse control systems, ensuring reliable communication between machines and upstream/downstream systems

Troubleshoot and debug controls, connectivity, and integration issues during commissioning and live production

Load, validate, and support pre-existing control scripts on machines (no software development required)

Execute on-site deployment activities using project schedules, work instructions, and checklists (SmartSheets or similar tools)

Coordinate with site teams, 3PAs, and controls stakeholders to resolve technical and schedule issues

Provide daily progress updates, track risks and blockers, and escalate issues to engineering or program leadership as needed
Must haves:
-
4-7+ years of experience in controls integration, automation, or deployment-related roles
-
Hands-on experience with systems integration (not software or PLC development) in automated warehouse or industrial environments

Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across machines, control systems, and networked equipment

Proven experience working in brownfield (live production) environments
-
Working knowledge of MHE control tools (Interlox or comparable platforms)

Experience using project management or deployment tracking tools (SmartSheets, schedules, checklists, reporting)

Prior deployment or commissioning experience on automation or MHE projects

Experience with URL machines or similar automated equipment

Familiarity with JIRA or change/change-control tools
Salary and Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is between $40 - $44 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
