Job Title: Accountant IV/Junior Fixed Assets Analyst
Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension or conversion)
Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 – Hybrid
Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Purpose
The Accountant IV (Junior Fixed Assets Analyst) will support fixed asset accounting activities, including asset capitalization, depreciation, reconciliation, and disposal, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. This role will contribute to accurate financial reporting and audit readiness in a fast-paced corporate finance environment.
Experience
- Background in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with fixed asset accounting or general ledger support.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (basic to intermediate functions required).
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred; Oracle, NetSuite, or similar acceptable).
- Understanding of GAAP or IFRS accounting principles.
- Ability to prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and reconciliation.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a finance team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with recording and tracking fixed asset acquisitions, transfers, and disposals.
- Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including depreciation runs and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the fixed asset subledger.
- Conduct physical asset verification and tagging to ensure asset integrity and compliance.
- Collaborate with project owners and finance partners to ensure timely asset capitalization.
- Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist with manual journal entries, accruals, and account reclassifications.
- Generate reports and perform analysis for management review.
- Participate in system enhancements and process improvements related to fixed asset accounting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation standards.
Compliance & Standards
- Adhere to the corporate code of conduct and accounting policies.
- Maintain strong internal control and audit compliance practices.
- Follow documentation, approval, and record-retention standards.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with fixed asset accounting is a plus.

- Proven ability to manage high-volume Excel-based tasks accurately.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a close-driven environment.
