Job Title: Export Compliance Specialist
Job Mode: Remote
Contract Duration: 06 Months with possibility of extension
Job Summary:
- This role supports enterprise wide export compliance initiatives across a global technology environment.
- The specialist ensures products software and technologies are classified and managed in accordance with export control regulations.
- The position independently manages export classification activities while collaborating with cross functional teams.
- The role plays a critical part in enabling lawful international operations and regulatory adherence.
- Strong regulatory expertise attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform export classification for tangible and intangible items including software and technology.
- Gather technical data and prepare export classification determinations.
- Interpret and apply U.S. and global export control regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering and program teams to evaluate technical characteristics.
- Assign appropriate export classifications across the product lifecycle.
- Review export transactions for regulatory compliance.
- Support compliance metrics reporting and documentation.
- Utilize trade compliance tools and internal systems for screening and classification
Required Qualifications:
- Proven hands on experience with export classification.
- Working knowledge of U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
- Experience with Wassenaar Arrangement regulations including Categories 3 4 and 5 Part I and II.
- Bachelors degree with at least five years of export compliance sanctions compliance or international trade experience.
- Minimum two years of direct experience in international trade or compliance focused roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Proficiency with Enterprise tools or MS Office including Outlook and SharePoint.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronics software encryption or advanced technology exports.
- Familiarity with ECCNs CCATS licensing determinations and encryption controls.
- Exposure to ERP system or PLM platforms.
- Experience working in regulated global technology environments.
