Job Title: Laboratory Technician 

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46268

Duration: 12 Months (Extension based on performance)

Pay : 24-25.00/ hr  


About the Role:

 
  • Join our dynamic team as a Laboratory Technician within the Herbicide Tolerance Assay Development and Characterization (HT-ADC) team.
  • This role involves developing and optimizing assay platforms to identify and characterize genes related to herbicide tolerance traits.
  • The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment, performing general laboratory and greenhouse operations, plant handling, and supporting experimental execution.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Adhere to safety procedures and use appropriate personal protection equipment.
  • Conduct laboratory and greenhouse tasks, including planting and plant care.
  • Execute herbicide applications on plants using a track sprayer chamber.
  • Perform quality checks and sort plant material for experiments.
  • Coordinate and plan activities with other groups such as Crop Health/Herbicide Biology Discovery and Research Enablement.
  • Maintain laboratory facilities and equipment according to standards.
  • Operate common instrumentation, including liquid handlers, imaging equipment, and automated solutions.
  • Work comfortably with discovery chemistry, solvents, and commercial herbicides.
  • Conduct lab activities requiring sterile techniques.
  • Utilize MSOffice 365 applications for effective communication and collaborative file sharing.
  • Accurately document experimental data under the guidance of project leads.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, effective documentation, organization skills, and adherence to safety protocols.
 
Education Qualification:
 
  • Associate’s (2-year) or Bachelor’s degree (4-year) required. Master’s degree candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • New graduates with laboratory experience are welcome to apply.
